Steel Roots is a weekly
Christian television show for teens and young adults, designed to raise up new disciples forJesus Christ .Ben Cerullo founded Steel Roots after converting to
Christianity . He states that the show was begun to illustrate to young people being Christian does not prevent one from having fun and enjoying life. Steel Roots showcasesextreme sports and popular music with aChristian theme. It also discusses how teens should deal situations such as relationships, forgiveness, temptation, and lying.The show has a worldwide viewership of 70 million people. It has become a resource and clearinghouse for teens who wish to witness to others about the Bible and to serve as an affirmation of their faith.
In 2001 a record studio and label were started by Cerullo and Jimi Ray (former lead singer of
Age of Faith ) called Steelroots Records. The label signed newSeattle, Washington -based rock bandStrange Occurrence and released the band's debut album, "Another Day to Start Again", in 2002 [http://www.christianitytoday.com/music/reviews/2002/anotherdaytostartagain.html] . In addition to this, probably one of the most famous bands this label signed before closing isShowbread (band) , which after that release left forSolid State Records . After two years the label closed, after a decision was made to focus entirely on the ministry of the television show.External links
