My People Will Rise

"My People Will Rise" is the title of a song from the African-American Civil Rights Movement era, during the 60's. The song was written by Albert Wood and is considered to be in the genre of Calypso.

The song is in cut time and the first half of the verse is in the key of D minor. However, the second part of verse is in the key of D. The chorus has the same melody of second part of verse.
