Pascualina

Pascualina is a diary, named after the principal character of it, Pascualina, created by Chilean Paulina Mónkeberg, since 1990.

The Diary

Its first appearances were in dark colours, in allusion to the witch theme of the diary. The main colours were purple and black, and the pages were decorated with spider webs and freaky skulls. Over the years, it became more colourful, but keeping the witch theme background.

1992 - Olivio conoce a Pascualina ("Olivio meets Pascualina", in which Pascualina meets her dragon pet, now disappeared from the diary.)

1993 - Pascualina en una Sandía ("Pascualina inside a Watermelon")

1994 - Pacualina 1994

1995 - Pacualina presenta a Aldonza ("Pascualina introduces Aldonza")

2000 - Pascualina 2000 (In this edition, the 1990 story is retold)

2003 - Pascualina 2003 (Pascualina goes to Turkey. In this edition, Pascualina leaves her witch clothing, and adopts normal people's style.)

2004 - Pascualina 2004 (Pascualina goes to France)

2005 - Pascualina 2005 (Pascualina in France. Here we can see a more grown-up Pascualina)

2006 - Pascualina 2006 (Pascualina in Spain. This edition is a homage to architect Antoni Gaudi.)

2007 - Pascualina in Brugges (This edition is a homage to street artists.)

Pascualina

History

Pascualina was born in Brugges, Belgium, the eldest child of wizards, who tried to fit in the normal world for her.

In her first years, Pascualina went to a wizard boarding school, where she studied magical skills. It was an unpleasant experience for her and she felt out of place, so she left.She has been through many adventures that can be read in the diaries. She has traveled around the world following her father, who is an astronomer. Her experiences help the girls to grow up with her.

Family

"Pascualina":

The eldest child of the wizards Pascual della Calabazza and Plácida Scalofrío. She is the protagonist of the diary. Her biggest characteristics are her kindness of heart and depth of feelings.

"Plácida Scalofrío":

She is Pascualina's mother. She works for a Muscovite magazine. She always has a comforting word for Pascualina. She is her best friend.

" Pascual della Calabazza"

He is Pascualina's father. He is an astronomer and has to travel around the world for his job. His family goes with him anywhere he has to go.

"Aldonza"

She is Pascualina's sister, the second after her. She was born in Hungary. She has an obsession with boys, but she is a deep thinker. She is also a good adviser.

"Ludovico and Rosamunda"

They are Pascualina's younger siblings. He was born in Murcia, Spain. She was born in Moscow, Russia.
