The stream flows from south to north and is one of the wettest streams in Cape Verde.Geography
The stream begins just north of the island's mountain range. The range area are filled with treacherous and steep cilffs that contains vegetation, a village and a road is in the middle of the valley. The stream flows near a village with steep cliffs which includes groves and other crops, at the 75% of its way, the stream flows within a cliffy ravine and another village known as
Chã da Igreja which is surrounded by small tract of farmlands in the west and mountains to the other side. Around halfway to the stream and up to Chã da Igreja is the main road of Cruzinha - Ribeira Grande that lies with the west side of the stream The river finally empties into the Atlantic that are surrounded by a cliffy coastline and is near a beach area located west ofCruzinha .Places within the stream
