Roger Boylan

Roger Boylan is an American writer (b. 1951) who was raised in Ireland, France, and Switzerland. Boylan attended the University of Ulster and the University of Edinburgh. His novel "Killoyle" was published in 1997 by Dalkey Archive Press. In 2003, a sequel, "The Great Pint-Pulling Olympiad", was published by Grove Press. German versions of both novels, translated by the award-winning German translator and author Harry Rowohlt, were critically and commercially successful. The third volume in the Killoyle trilogy, "Killoyle Wine and Cheese", was first published in Germany in 2006 and is forthcoming in English. Boylan’s latest novel, "The Adorations", deals with historical and religious themes and is forthcoming in German translation by [http://www.keinundaber.ch/site Kein und Aber] , Zürich. This publisher also reissued the entire "Killoyle" trilogy in the autumn of 2007. Boylan is a regular contributor to Boston Review's New Fiction Forum, and his stories and articles have appeared in many journals and reviews, including "The Literary Review", "The Recorder", "The Texas Observer", "The Austin American-Statesman", and "Scrivener". He has recently completed a memoir and is working on a novel. He currently lives in Texas.

Boylan is married and has a daughter, Margaret Boylan.
