Rick Hughes

Rick Hughes (born August 22 1973, in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American professional basketball player.

He attended Thomas More College, in Kentucky.

Hughes went undrafted in the National Basketball Association but played 21 games for the Dallas Mavericks in 1999, averaging 3.9 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. Extremely talented and exciting player, a true 6’9” athlete who runs, jumps and dunks as well as any big man anywhere. He is fantastic on the low post and can handle the ball like a small forward. Inside scoring machine that can also come out and shoot the three pointer. Rick is a very balanced person who is very religious and spiritual. He is a perfect person on and off the court. Was Eurobasket All-French Pro A Player of the Year in 2004. Also played in the French Pro A All-Star game the same year. Moved to Teramo in the Italian SerieA league in 2004-05. Started the season strong but had some problems with his achilles tendon and returned to the USA to fully recover. Played for Murcia (05-06) in the Spanish LEB to show he was back in good shape.

In the 2006-07 season Hughes is playing in Spain for Baloncesto León of the LEB, where for the second year in a row, he took his team to the championship game, ultimately elevating both teams (Murcia and Leon) to the ACB.
