Alicia R. Parlette (born January 1982) is a
journalist andcopy editor who was diagnosed withalveolar soft part sarcoma in 2005, while employed by theSan Francisco Chronicle newspaper. After her diagnosis with this rare form ofcancer , she began a diary of her treatment titled "Alicia's Story," [http://www.sfgate.com/alicia] the first installment of which was carried on the front page of the Chronicle onJune 5, 2005 .On March 9, 2007, the San Francisco Chronicle published the final installment of "Alicia's Story" under the title "Cancer. Despair. Faith. And now, a blog."
