Theresa Andrews (born
August 25 ,1962 ) was an Olympic double gold medalist in the1984 Summer Olympics inLos Angeles, California , winning in both the 100m backstroke and the 4x100m medley relay. After receiving her first gold, Andrews presented it to her brother in a private ceremony, honoring him for his courage after being paralyzed at the age of 19 in a bicycle accident.wimming

Andrews is currently working as a speaker by corporations, conferences, community groups, and schools. Her speeches touch upon the potential of individual performance and the importance of teamwork in achieving that goal. She has also spoken on the values inherent to the Olympic movement. Bachelors in Therapeutic Recreation from theUniversity of Florida and her Masters in clinical social work fromOhio State University , Andrews has worked for several years as a clinical social worker specializing in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. She is currently employed by MBNA America as an assistant vice-president on the Internet Operations Team, and she is active on theU.S. Olympic Committee .References
