Timothy Grucza (born
July 1 ,1976 ,Melbourne ,Australia ) is a documentary film maker based inParis ,France .Grucza emigrated to France in 2000. He began his career as a cameraman in Australia, working on issues in the South Pacific including civil unrest in West Papua. Since 2002, Grucza has specialized in Iraq. During the
2003 invasion of Iraq Grucza filed reports for the French networkCanal+ and since then he has worked extensively in Iraq and Palestine for PBS' "Frontline".In 2006, along with Yuri Maldevsky, Grucza released his first feature film named "White Platoon" (a.k.a. "La Section"). The film is a unique look at a platoon of soldiers who spend one year in Baghdad, entering as idealistic young men and leaving as cynical, sometimes bitter, veterans.
