- Loveless Land
In the film "
Wild Wild West ", Loveless Land is a fictional confederacy of three or more territories that were created because of the second division of theUnited States . Each territory belongs to eitherSpain ,France , (possibly other European countries) and Dr. Arliss Loveless.Origins
Loveless Land was born when Captain
James West (played byWill Smith ) failed to prevent Dr. Loveless from destroying several small towns with a giant mechanicalarachnid . While PresidentUlysses S. Grant was driving thegolden spike intoPromontory Point , Dr. Loveless kidnapped the president, and forced him to sign a contract legalizing the formation of the United Divided. The legality of this contract is questionable; theConstitution of the United States clearly states the president may not pass a law without the consent of theUnited States Congress .The Flag
Loveless Land's flag is quite similar to that of the battle flag of the Confederate States of America, or Navy Jack. As seen in the image above, the flag contains the southern cross (two bars with stars crossing through the center) and a
spider , probably a black widow, all in black and white. The Spider
The spiders only purpose on the flag is to symbolize Dr. Loveless's obsession with legs. Loveless's strange passion for legs is explained because of the simple fact that he has none.
The Stars and Bars
The Stars and Bars on the flag does not have any political relationship to the
Confederate States of America . The Stars and Bars only representrebellion , notslavery or any other political views of the founders of the CSA.The Territories
No official cartograph of Loveless Land has ever been created. The United Divided slices the continental United States into three or more parts, destroying the unity of the United States. Supposedly, the east coast is cut into two parts, and the western half of the country is another territory, but this is not for certain.
