June 26 ,1943 in Lippenhuizen,Friesland ) is a Dutch football coach.De Haan is former coach of the
Netherlands national under-21 football team ( _nl. Jong Oranje), with whom he won the2006 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship and2007 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship . A semi final spot in the latter tournament also qualified the Dutch for the2008 Summer Olympics . He is a former coach of the clubSC Heerenveen from 1985 till 2004, the longest time a coach worked for a Dutch professional football club. He brought the club back to theEredivisie in 1993. In 1999 he reached second place in the Eredivisie with Heerenveen and thus qualified for theUefa Champions League for the first time in the club's history.In 2003 he received the
Sport award and onMay 10 2004 , after his final game as coach of SC Heerenveen, he was given the title knight in theOrder of Orange-Nassau .De Haan is currently in charge of the Netherlands Olympic Football Team, competing at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
