Batesville High School is one of the two public secondary schools that are located in the city of Batesville, Arkansas, in Independence County. Their mascot for the school is the Pioneer. The school colors are orange and black.

Mission Statement

"Batesville High School provides public education to the secondary schools in this district. We are a vital part of a threefold cooperation between faculty and staff, the student body, and the local community. Together we work to ensure that the curriculum will support students who will develop life skills and accept challenging situations, so that they might become responsible participants in the global community."

Alma Mater

"So here's to Batesville High School, here's to you/May we ever be loyal and true,/And proudly our praises we sing,/Throughout the ages let them ring./And all through our lives we'll recall, the school that to us was best of all./So here's to Batesville High, here's to you,/The orange and black the orange and black/Will live forever."

Athletics

Batesville High School has a long history of success in many different sports. [http://www.maxpreps.com/FanPages/HomeSchool.mxp/AffiliateID-00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000/SchoolID-d06a35ea-6b06-4f5f-a825-6c51e29c5827] The combined teams for the Pioneers currently compete in football, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, cheerleading, track, soccer, skeet shooting and volleyball, among others.

In most sports, the Pioneers compete in the newly established (2005) AAAAA-East division of Arkansas athletics.

In 2003, the football team won a state championship while competing in the AAAA division. It was their first ever football state title. Kyle Francis was the MVP of the championship. He was the senior quarterback.

In 2004, Diane Smith was the MVP of the AAAA State Championship softball game that Batesville won!

In 2005, the baseball team won the second consecutive AAAA state championship by defeating the Harrison Goblins 5-4 in 9 innings. The MVP was Kelly Davis who came up with the game-tying and game winning RBIs in the later innings. The baseball team has won five state championships since 1990.
