Michael Carrington (TV)

Born in 1961, Michael Carrington is Controller of CBeebies (the BBC's brand for children 6 years and under). Working to the Controller of BBC Children's, Carrington is the commissioner and also editorially responsible for the CBeebies digital children’s channel; which includes all CBeebies output on BBC ONE and BBC TWO; CBeebies Radio on BBC7, and for the website [http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies CBeebies] . He is charged with driving forward the CBeebies brand in a multi-platform world, ensuring its creative ambitions and maintaining strong relationships with in-house departments and the independent production community. Under Carrington's creative leadership, CBeebies was named Children's Channel of the Year at the British Academy Children's Awards in November 2007 [www.bafta.org]
