It is owned by the State of Vermont.[1] The airport once had scheduled passenger airline service via Air Vermont.
Facilities and aircraft
Morrisville-Stowe State Airport covers an area of 112 acres (45 ha) which contains one asphalt paved runway (1/19) measuring 3,701 x 75 ft (1,128 x 23 m).[1]
For the 12-month period ending April 30, 2005, the airport had 18,020 aircraft operations, an average of 49 per day: 96% general aviation, 3% military and 1% air taxi. There are 28 aircraft based at this airport: 64% single engine, 7% multi-engine and 29% gliders.[1]
This airport also has a FBO which is open 9am to 5pm every day. They have Jet A and 100LL for fuel along with aviation oil. If you do fly to the airport, be aware of glider activity from May 1 to Nov 1. They fly over Stowe and Morrisville and might have radio communication as well. They fly a right hand traffic pattern if landing runway 1 or left hand traffic landing on runway 19. It might be to the interest to pilots to contact the FBO via radio 122.8 or phone 802-888-7845 to see if gliders are up.
