Farmer Autocare

Farmer Autocare

Farmer Autocare Ltd. is a tyre and exhaust business started by Scottish entrepreneur Sir Tom Farmer.

Previously, Sir Tom built Kwik-Fit into one of the world's largest car servicing companies, before it was sold to Ford in 1999 for £1.1 billion.

His new venture is based on a co-ownership programme that enables people to own their own tyre and exhaust centres in conjunction with the central company. It operates on a similar principle to franchising. The company has stated that they see this business model as a way for people to invest in their own abilities and reap the rewards from running their own business, whilst benefitting from the support and experience of the central company.

As of the end of 2006, Farmer Autocare is operating from thirteen centres across Scotland.
