July 19 ,1968 ) is an award-winning Americansportswriter andauthor of three books:
*"Crimson Storm Surge: Alabama Football, Then and Now" (2005);
*"No Time Outs: What It's Really Like to Be a Sportswriter Today" (2006);
*"Where Football is King: A History of the SEC" (2006).All three books were published by Taylor Trade.Walsh has won several awards including the First Amendment Award (
Associated Press News Editors), "New York Times " Chairman's Award, as well as receiving twoPulitzer Prize nominations.Born in Camden , he grew up in
Minnesota and graduated from theUniversity of New Hampshire in 1990. He's currently coveringAlabama football and all of the related lawsuits (including "United States vs. Logan Young; Mike Price vs. Time Inc.; Kenny Smith vs. NCAA, Phillip Fulmer and others; Ronnie Cottrell and Ivy Williams vs. NCAA and others") for the "Tuscaloosa News".
