- Frank Trainor
Frank Trainor (born
August 25 ,1954 inCharlottetown ,Prince Edward Island ,Canada ) is a professional songwriter and independent artist.Frank Trainor was playing rhythm guitar and singing lead vocals in popular east coast pop/rock bands when he was barely in his teens. He became inspired to start writing his own songs during those late 60's years and in the early 70's became one of the founding members of the PEI folk/rock group, The Troubadors. Frank was guided in his early career efforts by PEI born broadcast media impresario/agent and former CBC Variety Chief Jack McAndrew, who arranged & promoted showcase opportunities for Frank to open for major stars of the day such as
The Poppy Family andGino Vanelli . Frank Trainor was quickly discovered as a young emerging songwriter by Canada's #1 country music group of the time,The Mercey Brothers , who recorded a number of Frank's early songs including the group's #1 country radio hit "Our Lovin' Times". Two essential songs from this early period were also recorded by Frank as a single in 1975. Both songs were hits. "Thursday Morning/5 O'Clock Rain" & "Here Comes Another Day" received wide airplay across Canada creating broader opportunities for Frank to appear on National TV as a new young "up and coming" artist/songwriter. Frank often performed as a guest star on country music programs of the time such as The George Hamilton IV Show and The Tommy Hunter Show among others. Frank however continued to focus his career efforts primarily on establishing his growing credentials as a pro songwriter while recording only sporadically, but, in 1985, he decided to take a run at the national record charts once again by releasing four consecutive top ten hit singles earning national recognition for Frank Trainor both as a major hit songwriter and as a serious contender as a recording artist. Frank's success drew much attention to his potential from the country music industry in his native Canada and from Music Row in Nashville, TN. Frank Trainor was nominated for a Juno Award in 1986 as Country Male Vocalist of the Year. He was signed as a professional songwriter by a major music publisher in Nashville in 1987. A veteran pro songwriter/artist, Frank has most recently been in the studio recording his latest acoustic songs collection titled Pockets Full Of Paradise. He has been encouraged in the past year to bring his talents and song craft skills back home again to Nashville where Frank has many friends & supporters who recognize his talent. Prior to releasing his latest collection Pockets Full Of Paradise, Frank had released a new studio CD in 2005 titled Grace & Gravity along with two remastered albums from his early years in Toronto. He continues in his professional focus as a songwriter with plans now being developed to perform "live" again beginning in 2008.Discography
