Kevin Beeston

Kevin Beeston

Kevin Beeston is a Welsh director who owns several small Dublin companies and is a friend of Ipswich Town chairman, David Sheepshanks. Kevin is also on board of the club.

Kevin Stanley Beeston FCMA became Non-Executive Chairman of Serco Group plc in September 2007, having previously served as the Group's Executive Chairman, Chief Executive and Finance Director.

He is a member of the CBI President's Committee and Chairman of the CBI's Public Services Strategy Board, which promotes the role business has in transforming the UK's public services and he is a Commissioner for the TUC's Commission on Vulnerable Employment.

In addition, he is the Non-Executive Chairman of Partnerships in Care, Infinitas Learning and Domestic and General Ltd, and holds Non-Executive Director positions on the boards of IMI plc and Ipswich Town Football Club plc.

Born: September 1962.

Education: Gorleston Grammar School, Great Yarmouth.

Career (1981): commercial trainee, Birds Eye Wall's.

1983: assistant manager, Birds Eye Wall's.

1985: financial analyst, RCA Services (later became Serco).

1985: finance manager, Serco Services.

1988: finance director, Serco Education.

1990: finance director, Serco Space.

1991: commercial director, Serco Space.

1992: director, Serco.

1994: chairman and chief executive, Serco International.

1996: finance director, Serco.

1999: chief executive, Serco.

2002: executive chairman, Serco.

Kevin is responsible for the development of Ipswich's successful youth academy which has produced players like Richard Wright, Kieron Dyer, Darren Bent, Darren Ambrose and Titus Bramble.

All those mentioned players were helped by Kevin's funding of the academy and by receiving his funds, all of those mentioned players have carved out successful Premiership campaigns and all players have gone on to represent England at some stage, with a couple making England senior debuts and appearances.
