Hogtied is a pornographic website focusing on women in erotic bondage. Hogtied is based in the San Francisco Armory and is part of the network of adult websites operated by Kink.com. Unlike some other sites featuring erotic bondage, Hogtied does not usually show oral or vaginal sex, instead focusing on women being stimulated with dildos and vibrators, and most commonly with the Hitachi Magic Wand vibrator. The focus of Hogtied's scenes often seems to be to subject women to as many orgasms as possible while they are in bondage. Flagellation, spanking, nipple clamps and other sadomasochistic activities are often incoporated into the scene. History

Hogtied was founded by UK-born Columbia University graduate student Peter Acworth in New York City in 1997. Acworth saw a newspaper article about a British firefighter who had made £250,000 in a short time by publishing online pornography. Acworth decided to do the same. Having had a lifelong interest in bondage, Acworth focused his site on that fetish and began publishing Hogtied, featuring content licensed from other bondage pornography producers. Acworth soon left his graduate studies to work on the site full time. In 1998, Acworth moved from New York City to San Francisco. Finding that sales were leveling off because other sites were using the same content, Acworth began producing his own content, initially featuring himself with various models who he found through Craigslist or through his photographer friends. In 2003, Acworth hired rigger Matt Williams, a former employee of New York's Insex, to be the full-time webmaster of Hogtied, so that Acworth could focus on being CEO of the corporate entity Cybernet Entertainment, which would become Kink.com in 2006. Williams maintained Hogtied's focus on primarily showing bondage and sadomasochism, without sexual intercourse or oral sex. Williams continued as webmaster at Hogtied until 2008, when he was promoted to the position of Creative Director at Kink.com.
