Kymco is a Taiwanese company that manufactures motor scooters, motorcycles, and ATVs. As the largest scooter manufacturer in Taiwan, the company was founded in 1963 to make parts for Honda. The company built its first complete scooter in 1970 and began marketing under the "Kymco" brand name in 1992. Kymco's headquarters and factory are located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has roughly 3000 employees, and produces more than 480,000 vehicles per year. The company has overseas production factories in Jakarta (Indonesia), Shanghai, Changsha (China), and Chengdu(China).

"Kymco" is the trade name for the "Kwang Yang Motor Co, Ltd" (zh-tp|t=光陽工業|p=Guāng Yáng Gōng Yè).

In Australia Kymco scooters are branded as Bug and Zoot Scooters.

Kymco in the United States

Kymco offers a reduced product line in the United states which includes 15 scooters, 9 ATV's and the Venox 250 cruiser which has been reviewed as one of the best starter cruisers in the US market in one test.

Kymco sales in the United States are coordinated through Kymco USA, headquartered in Inman, South Carolina. Kymco USA currently serves over 600 US dealerships which offer various levels of the US line-up.
