Campbell Collegiate High School is located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. It was opened for the school year of 1963 - 1964 [Unknown: "Campbell Collegiate Agenda", page 2. Premier, 2006] and named for long time educator James ("Shorty" or "Shot") Campbell. Currently the school hosts approximately 1400 students in Grades 9 - 12, down from a peak enrollment at the turn of the '70s of upwards of 2200 students, when it also contained Grade 8. The school has many programs including Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Music, French Immersion, and the International Baccalaureate program (IB).

Student Activity Council (SAC)

The Student Activity Council at Campbell Collegiate is responsible for student activities, including "Welcome Week" for Grade 9 students and pep rallies. The current SAC president is Kate Kujawa, and the Vice-Presidents are Cassidy Gale and Lisa Poon.

Music

Over the years, Campbell Collegiate has established a history of excellence in their music program. The school not only offers core music classes in each grade, including IB Music, but offers choral and band as credit courses. The Grade 9 Concert Band & Concert Choir introduce new students to playing in an ensemble environment. The school features open groups for older students as well. The "Fat Band" and Senior Concert Choir groups offer all students, regardless of experience, an opportunity to learn, perform, and tour with a music group. Auditioned groups are available to more senior students. For instrument players, this is the Wind Ensemble group. For singers, this means a chance to sing with the Chamber Choir. However, further opportunity is given through the jazz programs. New musicians can join Senior Green, and new singers are invited to join Jazz Nouveau. For those seeking a further challenge, choristers can audition for the intermediate jazz vocal groups Center Stage and Prime Time. The most challenging and powerful performances come from the top two groups, usually established members of either Wind Ensemble or Chamber Choir : the jazz band Senior Gold, and the jazz choir The Classics. Both groups have gained a reputation of excellence around the province, and habitually perform out-of-province and in the United States.
