Arthur Carmody (born April 7, 1984) was the placekicker for the Louisville Cardinals football team. As a junior, he won the Lou Groza Award. His streak of 97 consecutive extra points is a school record. From 2004 to 2006, he kicked for over 100 points each season. He is the NCAA football all-time leading scorer for a kicker with 433 points. High school

Carmody attended Loyola College Prep in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a two-time all-district and all-city kicker there. As a senior he connected on 8 of 11 field goals, including a 45-yarder. Additionally, he was 28 out of 28 on extra-point attempts. He was also a key member on the school baseball team, as he owned a 10-1 record as a senior, pitching for the team. As a junior, he batted .400 with 37 RBIs.

College

Carmody played with the University of Louisville Cardinals from 2004 to 2007. During the 2004 year he ranked second in the nation in scoring among kickers. He holds the NCAA, conference, and school records for consecutive points after touchdown with 77. He also kicked 12 out of 15 field goals during the season. He continued to break and tie records in 2005 for the school. In the 2006 season he won the Lou Groza Award, was first team in the All-BIG EAST game, was ranked fourth in the nation in scoring, and earned a BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week recognition. He made 47 out of 56 field goals and 200 out of 202 extra points, totaling 341 points.

chool Records

Carmody currently holds 21 of the 22 kicking records at the University of Louisville, missing the record for longest field goal by one yard. AFL 2 career

After many tryouts with NFL teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carmody was unable to make a squadFact|date=September 2008. He signed with the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings, the af2 football team in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana.
