Pink Floyd 's 1969 "Soundtrack from the Film More ". It is a pastoral ballad sung by David Gilmour. In "The Man and the Journey suite", it was retitled "The Beginning" in "The Journey" half of the show. It was played as a medley with "Beset by the Creatures of the Deep", which was a retitling of "Careful with That Axe, Eugene ". There is a tin whistle or pennywhistle on the song, but it is not known who plays it. Some sources say that it is Nick Mason's wife Lindy. The live performances of the song are considerably different. David Gilmour would use anelectric guitar, there would be a scat solo after the last verse, there would be drums, andthe song would merge with Careful With That Axe Eugene. In a live intro to the song from 1970, Roger Waters states that the song is 'about being on
Ibiza ' (performance available on the "Fat Old Gigs" bootleg set).Personnel
