Hokota, Ibaraki

nihongo|Hokota|鉾田市|Hokota-shi is a city located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.

Hokota city was established in October 11, 2005, by the merger of Hokota town, Asahi village and Taiyō village from Kashima District.

As of September 1, 2005, the city has an estimated population of 51,519 and a density of 253 persons per km². The total area is 203.90 km².
