Bangalore ,Karnataka .Jakkur is the base for Air Deccan charter service. They also service their aircraft there. Jakkur is known for its flying training school, run by the Government of Karnataka and it is called The Government Flying Training School (GFTS). Currently, the school has four operational training aircraft: a Cessna 172P, two Cessan 152A, and a Hansa.
Jakkur is considered to be a suitable place to start off one's aviation career. The airfield's runway is not too long - only about 3,020 feet - but it is quite well maintained and serves the purpose for training and charter flights.
