Electrofied

Sometimes referred to as The Electrofied Blues Band, Electrofied is a US based electric blues band that recorded the album [http://cdbaby.com/cd/electrofied Sunday Morning Blues] featuring Lane Whigham on vocals, Tony Fazio on lead guitar, Charles Solomon on bass and Richard James Burgess on drums. Band History

When the band was founded by Tony Fazio and Richard Burgess in 2002, it was basically a cover band. Covering songs by blues greats B.B. King and Muddy Waters. Fazio's "Deep Blues" style of guitar playing and Burgess rock style drumming,together created an interesting style of blues, thus the "Electrofied Blues" sound was created.

With singer Lane Wingham, the group played publicly to mostly rock audiences. However, their style was "Blues" and remained so on their first album release "Sunday Morning Blues". The album was cut live in the studio with basically one take per song. A style of recording that is now legendary but rarely used today, but is a big part of the Electrofied sound.

Personnel Changes

Personnel changes began in 2005, just a few weeks before "Sunday Morning Blues was released. Winham decided to leave the group to concentrate on education opportunities. Fazio called on singer Scot Taylor of whom he had worked with a few years prior. A few months later, bassist Charles Soloman was replaced by Rob Rusteburg.

Scot Taylor, a native Washingtonian was basically raised on blues music. His influences are Bobby Wommack, Bobby Blue Bland , Al Green and James Brown. Taylor's lead vocal added a soulful and gospel flavour to the groups already Blues / Rock style. The results have been very positive and the band plays to very enthusiastic crowds.

Current Work

Electrofied is currently awaiting a second studio album release on indie lable, Marva Records headed by Richard Burgess. The songs are all originals written by members Taylor, Fazio and Burgess. The group has been performing their new songs at live performances and have been getting positive responses. The new project includes guest spots by noted Blues artist, Charlie Sayles.

Member bios

Tony Fazio has been playing since he was seven years old, has a bachelors degree in music from Berklee College of Music and he owns, operates and teaches at the Annapolis Guitar School. Tony has played nationally and internationally at many major music festivals with notable artists such as Memphis Gold and Charlie Sayles.

Richard James Burgess has played on hundreds of hit records both as a studio musician and an artist in the UK, USA, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and Berklee College of Music in Boston. He is featured in the book the A to Z of Rock Drummers.

Scott Taylor: Started out in gospel music. Began singing dance music in the late 1980s. Had no. 1 record on British dance chart with release "Not So Far Away" and recorded British underground classic "Don't Turn Your Back", both for Back Beat Records, 1991 and 1993. Taylor is featured on Discomusic.com and Artistdirect.com. In 1997, he began to concentrate solely on Soul and Blues music.
