materials=The Uzhgorod Synagogue was dedicated in 1910 and was built by leading Austro-Hungarian architects Ludwig Förster and Frigyes Feszl. It was built in a flamboyant Romantic style, boldly intermingling Byzantine and Moorish elements. Since World War II the building has housed the Regional Philharmonic Society with the Transcarpathian Folk Choir served as Uzhgorod’s concert hall, prized for its acoustics. All Jewish symbols have been removed.
