footnotes =Stochov (IPA2|ˈstoxof; _de. Stochau) is a
town in theCentral Bohemian Region ,Czech Republic . It is located 11 km west ofKladno and has a population of 5,397 (2005). Stochov, first time mentioned in 1316, used to be a smallvillage until second half of 20th century. This changed in 1950s and 1960s when a largehousing estate was built up west of Stochov in order to accommodate increasing number of workers for coal mines in Kladno area. Subsequently Stochov gained town status in 1967.According to legend Saint Wenceslas was born in Stochov and his grandmother
Saint Ludmila then planted anoak to conmemorate this event. The aged and half withered oak tree, estimated to be about 1 000 years old and called Saint Wenceslas' Oak ("Svatováclavský dub"), is the main sight of the town.External links
