The original East Tamaki location was decommissioned in September 2004, and by 2005, Cock & Bull had opened a chain of 5 taverns. In August 2004, Steam Brewing Company purchased Auckland Breweries to meet increased production demands. The Auckland Breweries plant's bottling line allowed Steam Brewing Company to enter the retail beer market. In 2006, Steam Brewing Company began the process of rebranding itself as Epic Brewing Company. [cite web
