A woman who won a tournament gets the following entry:
A woman who lost in a quarterfinal of a tournament gets the following entry:
For each Grand Slam tournament that was held before the beginning or after the end of a woman's Grand Slam tournament career, the woman gets the following entry:

(1) A dash indicates that the tournament took place before the person's first career Grand Slam singles event or after the person's last career Grand Slam Singles event.
(2) A blank cell simply indicates that the information has not yet been added to the table.
(3) SF-B = the person lost in a semifinal but won the bronze medal.
(4) ACF = lost in the all comers final (the winner played the defending champion).
(5) FRA = French Championships; WIM = Wimbledon; OLY = Olympic Games; USA = United States Championships. The Australian Championships for women began in 1922.
