Pentwyn is a district of Cardiff, Wales, located northeast of the city centre.

Amenities

Pentwyn has three pubs : the Village Inn, Hollybush and The Grand Slam. Pentwyn has its own shopping centre which has a Post Office, Newsagent, Fish and Chips Shop, Pentwyn Balti, Betfred, the Outstretched Hand Community Drop-in Centre, Aldi, Alldays, SPAR and Nisa Extra. A Waitrose is now open in the Pentwyn and Pontprennau area. Opposite the Village inn.

Pentwyn has one of Cardiff's largest leisure centres, which has a has a swimming pool with a wave machine, Squash courts, multi-activity Sports Hall, a Fitness suite, a Lounge Bar & Pool Side Cafeteria. It is built in a very similar layout to the Llanishen leisure centre. Behind this leisure centre is a popular skate park.

Pentwyn has 6 schools: The Hollies, St Bernadettes, St Davids, Bryn Celyn, Glyncoed Infants and Glyncoed Juniors. Pentwyn has a very good Scout troop. Pentwyn's AM is Jenny Randerson and Pentwyn's MP is Jenny Willott both Liberal Democrats.

Transport

Pentwyn is on the 51/53, 55 & 57/58 Cardiff Bus routes from Central Station to Pontprennau via Penylan and Llanederyn. It is located close the M4 motorway Junction 30 (Cardiff Northeast).

Governance

The electoral ward of Pentwyn falls within the parliamentary constituency of Cardiff Central. It is bounded by the wards of Pontprennau & Old St. Mellons to the north; Llanrumney to the east; Penylan to the south; and Cyncoed to the west.
