Ride Like the Wind was a hit single by Christopher Cross in 1980, appearing on his Grammy-winning self-titled debut album. It reached number 2 in the U.S. charts. On the album inner sleeve, Christopher Cross dedicated this song to Lowell George, formerly of the band Little Feat, who died in 1979. It features backing vocals by Michael McDonald and Eric Johnson on guitar.

The song was also covered by Taka Boom on her 1983 album 'Boomerang', as well as by British heavy metal band Saxon on their 1988 album Destiny, and the Dance act East Side Beat, who had a top 10 UK hit with the song in 1991.

Cross performed the single live at Flemington Racecourse as part of the pre-race entertainment for the 2007 Melbourne Cup.

German DJ Michael Mind remixed this song in 2007.

Also in 2007, German DJ, DJ Klaas remixed Michael Mind's version.
