In all of the Halo games Walshy uses a method of holding the controller known as 'The Claw', a method of holding the controller that he is said to have made (also note that in Halo 2 he did not claw double shot) in order to keep your thumb on the right control stick whilst pressing the face buttons of the controller, improving levels of control whilst jumping and meleeing. The Claw method involves the player using his middle finger to press the right trigger, allowing the index finger to press the face buttons of the controller without removing his thumb from the stick. Walshy no longer uses this technique as the control scheme 'Bumper Jumper' is available in Halo 3, which achieves the same results as claw but in a more comfortable layout. Walshy belongs to a new team called Team Instinct. Instinct placed Second in MLG Toronto, defeating his old team Final Boss in the Losers Bracket Finals in a dominating 3-1 series.
When interviewed by host Chris Puckett, he stated that beating his older team was as "...easy as taking candy from a baby, but a baby would have put up a better fight."
