Seamus Browne

Seamus Browne

Seamus Brown is a striker currently playing for Crusaders.

Hailing from the Shantallow in Derry, Brown was invited to England to play for Rochdale A.F.C. as a youth. It was here where he fostered a new friendship with fellow Shantallow man, current Derry City F.C. player Patrick McCourt. Brown returned home to play for Finn Harps where he had a successful season despite the club being relegated. Following the disappointment, Brown joined his home club Derry City F.C., where he has spent his time mostly in the under-21 team, proving influential in their success. This was shown particularly by his two-goal performance against Shelbourne F.C.'s under-21s in the Dr. Tony O'Neill Perpetual Trophy second round. However, Brown has also appeared for the senior team on occasion, being introduced as a late substitute to make his debut against Drogheda United F.C. towards the end of the 2006 season. He returned to his former club Finn Harps at the beginning of the 2007 season, he then signed for north Belfast club Crusaders later that year, playing and scoring in the CIS Cup Final of the 2007/2008 season against Linfield which Crusaders would go on to lose 3-2.
