There are three subspecies:
* "P. g. gulielmi", black wings
* "P. g. fantiensis", smaller size
* "P. g. massaicus", less orangeBreeding
The Jardine's Parrot nests in tree cavities. The eggs are white and there are usually three or four in a clutch.
