- Alison Starling
Alison Starling is the co-anchor of
WJLA-TV 's morning program "Good Morning Washington" and has co-anchored its noon broadcast since January of 2004. She has also frequently co anchored the 5 PM newscast since the departure of Kathleen Matthews but no official replacement announcement has been made. In addition, she also co-anchors Politico.com's "Playback" video segment--"where we watch so you don't have to"--which shows excerpts of late night television shows discussing political news.Starling is from a military family and spent part of her childhood in the
Washington D.C. metropolitan area while her father worked for the office of theU.S. Trade Representative . Starling joinedWJLA-TV in August 2003. She is originally fromFlorida and graduated from theUniversity of Florida in 1995.Prior to working at WJLA, Starling was a reporter at
WDEF-TV inChattanooga ,Tennessee , and KIRO-TV inSeattle, Washington .She received a Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship from
Rotary International and was named one of the "rising stars" of local television in Washington, D.C., by "Washingtonian".External links
