Horst Sachtleben (b.
September 24 ,1930 inBerlin ,Germany ) is a Germantelevision actor and director.After studying theory of
drama , Germanicphilology andhistory of art inBerlin he concentrated on his acting career. He had various engagements at the Hebbel-Theater inBerlin , Schauspielhaus inZürich , Bayerischen Staatsschauspiel inMunich and many more. In 1977 he was nominated for the Bavarian Actor Award.As director he puts on stage a lot of plays, e.g. Maria Magdalena at the Residenztheater in
Munich . Next to his work at the theatre he could be seen in numerous Movies and TV productions and works together with Caroline Link (Jenseits der Stille), Matti Geschonneck (Jenseits der Liebe), Vivian Naefe (Eine ungehorsame Frau), Dennis Gansel (Das Phantom), Kai Wessel (Mein Bruder, der Idiot), Rolf Silber (Ein Sommertraum) and many more. In 2004 he shot the filmlet Vorletzter Abschied (Heiko Hahn), which was shown on several festivals and won the German filmlet award 2005.Since a couple of years he can be seen in the role as bishop in the ARD serie Um Himmels Willen (Helmut Metzger, Ulrich König). In 2005 he was touring with the play Ein Inspektor kommt (Barry Goldmann).
