The history of this temple dates back to 1811 in a village called
Asota , where a farmer while ploughing his field, got stuck by some rock under the earth. After clearing the farmer found an idol of LordHanuman . TheThakur of that village shifted the idol to Salasar for proper religious ceremony. This has transformed the village into the Salasar Dham. Initially the idol was housed in a hut, the place later developed into a concrete temple, and today it is a large temple complex.See also
Salasar Balaji how to reach:nearest railway station is sujangarh. it is about 24 kilometer from salasar. salasar is situated on national highway no. 65. it is well connected with road with major cities of rajasthan like jaipur, sikar, jhunjhunu, bikaner, sikar, jodhpur etc. buses from almost every corner of rajasthan is available for salasar. Direct buses from Delhi are also available.

People also pay their homage to Shahid Girdhari Lal Dhukia, a martyer of Kargil war. Shahid Girdhari Lal Smarak (memorial of the war hero) is located near 2 km away from salasar town in Gudawari village on Salasar-Ratangarh Road.
