Life Coaching and the Profession of Life Coaching in Ireland is rapidly catching up with countries like the USA and UK. Life and Business Coaching Association of Ireland known as [http://www.lbcai.ie LBCAI] has the largest membership of Irish coaches and is the premier association in the country. Another organisation called the Irish Coaching Development Network ( [http://www.icdn.ie/ ICDN] ) is also working with the industry to improve training and standards for coaches. There are number of smaller coaching groups who are also involved in the process of developing coaching in Ireland.

Business Coaching is also now an important part of the management tool kit in Irish business. There are many Human Resources (HR) executives in Irish companies who have training in coaching. Training in Life and Business Coaching is a growth market in Ireland with an increasing amount of courses appearing every year. This reflects the increasing demand for coaching of all types that there is now in Ireland. As the potential of coaching to get results becomes common knowledge in the public and business arena then coaching in Ireland will be set to grow even faster. This trend reflects the growth of coaching in other parts of the world. The Celtic Tiger Irish economy now one of the best in Europe could not be in better shape to support this industry. Quality of life issues combined with large disposable income are allowing Irish people to avail of such services in ever increasing numbers.

The fact that Ireland is going through more change then it ever has in its history is perhaps another reason why coaching is becoming so popular. Other factors are: Ireland is now a truly multicultural society with up to 170 nationalities now living and working in Ireland. This demographic shift in the make up Irish society is also bringing challenges. Also there was a time in Ireland, only a couple of decades ago when people aspired to having a job for life. Now job mobility is the norm and is posing challenges to both businesses and to individuals. All this change is the bread and butter of the Life and Business Coaching industry.

So what is the typical type of independent coaching business now in Ireland? Well outside side of the business coaching part of the industry most are signal coaches or small groups of independent coaches who work together through referral. They are offering quite a wide range of coaching styles. Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Coaching is also becoming more available in Ireland too.
