LORAN-C transmitter Carolina Beach

LORAN-C transmitter Carolina Beach is the Zulu secondary station of the U.S. Southeast chain ( GRI 7270) with a transmission power of 800 kW. LORAN-C transmitter Carolina Beach, situated near Carolina Beach, North Carolina, USA at 34°3'46.208" N, 77°54'46.100" W (coord|34|3|46|N|77|54|46|W|). LORAN-C transmitter Carolina Beach used until 1961 as a few LORAN-C-transmitters as antenna a 190.5 metre tall free-standing tower radiator.

In 1961 the tower, which was equipped with radials although it was not designed for this, buckled in a storm and collapsed. It was replaced by a guyed mast radiator of same height.
