Pickering TownAlex Mathie (born
20 December 1968 inBathgate ) is a Scottish former footballer who made over 200 appearances as astriker for a number of British clubs. His most recent position was as player/manager with NCEL Premier Division side Pickering Town, whom he resigned from in January 2007.Career
Mathie began his career with Celtic, making eleven appearances before leaving for Morton in 1991 in a £100k deal. After a short loan spell with Port Vale, Mathie won a move in 1993 to Newcastle United in a deal worth just under £300k.
