"Who's Minding the Mint?" is a comedy movie from 1967. It was produced by Norman Maurer for Columbia Pictures. A comic book version of this movie appeared as a tie-in. It is available on VHS tape, but at this writing, is not out on DVD.

ynopsis

Harry Lucas (Jim Hutton) works at the U.S. Mint in Washington, D.C. He is loved by Verna Baxter (Dorothy Provine), who tries to woo him by giving him home-cooked (but nearly inedible) fudge. Lucas accidentally brushes $50,000 in currency into the bag with the fudge, and walks out with it. Before he realizes his mistake, he's destroyed the currency, and there will be an audit at work shortly.

In desperation, he assembles a group of people who are willing to help him get into the Mint after hours and print up replacement currency, if he'll print them a million dollars apiece. The time for the operation is moved up unexpectedly, forcing the group to go in wearing a wild variety of clothing, from a ballet costume (on Verna) to a full set of Revolutionary War clothes worn by Milton Berle, he was called out of a lodge meeting.
