The Blah! Party is a registered political party in the United Kingdom, founded in September 2006, aimed at attracting protest voters. It is currently led by punk rocker Raymond 'Captain Sensible' Burns.

The party is largely modelled on the principle of direct democracy, with suggestions being made on the party website by absolutely anyone. These suggestions will then be voted upon.

Officials

Handover of power

On 11th September 2007, Propaganda (the PR company responsible for the founding of the party) stepped down from the running of the party and handed total control to Captain Sensible, former Official Monster Raving Loony Party deputy leader Melodie Staniforth, Robert Staniforth, Sadie Ingoldby, Shaun Nightingale and Gary Spate.

Roles

* Raymond "Captain Sensible" Burns - Party Leader
* Shaun Nightingale
* Gary Spate

Election History

* 2007 - Carl Finlan took part in the local elections standing for the Thornton and Allerton ward of Bradford. He gained 2% of the overall vote which was good considering most constituents voted tactically for the Conservatives to keep the BNP out.
* 2008 - Deputy leader Melodie Staniforth took part in the local elections standing for the Holme Valley North ward of Kirklees. She gained 38 votes out of a possible 5,604 (0.68% of the vote) finishing seventh out of seven. She resigned shortly afterwards.

ponsorship

The party is largely funded by a sponsorship arrangement with Seabrook Crisps but also receives non-financial support from PR company Propaganda.
