Thursday's Child (charity)

[http://www.thursdayschild.org Thursday's Child] is an international children's charity, founded in 1982, which assists at-risk children. Its toll-free 24-hour hotline, 1 (800) USA-KIDS, deals with such issues as child abuse, runaways, missing and exploited children, teens who are anorexic or bulimic or who cut, teen pregnancy date rape and teen suicide. Q'Orianka Kilcher is the official teen celebrity spokesperson. The charity is also partnered with the pop group, Triple Image. To date, the charity has operated without any salaries. Former teen celebrity spokespersons have included Shalane McCall, Rebecca Schaeffer, Sydney Penny, and Ariana Richards. Thursday's Child offers the only hotline for eating disorders and has the only listing with toll-free directory for missing or exploited children.
