This town got the name as Pileru because of the river (Pilla Eru- small water stream in English) Pileru passes through this and it finally reaches the Pincha Dam. Piler is have multidivisional culture and Telugu language accent, because it is center point to 2 neighouring states that are Karnataka (KA), Tamilnadu(TN). Easily accessible to big cities like Chennai and Bangaluru. Piler is having a big role in terms of agriculture, education, commercial and political. Groundnut is the one of the major commercial crop in this region.
From this business town we can reach Tirupathi, Madanapalli, Chittoor, Royachoti and Palamaneru with same distance of 57 km.
Politics
* Politics plays major role in this area. The popular political leaders are 'Pedhireddi Ramachandra Reddy(DCC)' from Congress(I) party. The current opposition leader for this constituency is 'Srinath Reddy' of 'TDP' Party. Bharatiya Janata Party also has significant influence in this constituency.

Pileru has two railway stations on the
Tirupathi -Pakala -Guntakal line. Currently the broad gauge railway line is under construction. The track is temporarily suspended for transportation. Soon after the construction Piler is well connected all over the neighbouring states.Road
Pileru is well connected with all the places within the state and other parts of the country also. The state transport corporation run buses to all the important tourist places.One of the surprising thing is that Geographycally PILER is equal distance to Tirupathi, Chittoor, Madanapalli and Rayachoty with 56 KM.

Talakona : It is famous for its Lord Shiva temple,Water falls and deep Forest, which is just 35 kilometers away from Pileru. This location is popular for movie shootings. We can find many buses and other transportation means to reach here from Pileru and Tirupati. Many visit this place during New year.*
Kalyani Dam : One of the major water reservior in the district is just 30Km from Piler. This dam is located at Ghat section travelling towards Tirupati.*
Tirumala : It takes around 90minutes via self vehicle to reach this religious place. Tirumala is very religious place in India.*
