Mâcon-Loché TGV station is a very basic looking station. It is composed of four tracks, two centre ones reserved for non-stopping trains. There are two outer tracks that trains stopping at the station use in conjunction with the station's two side platforms. The station is connected to the regional rail network by a shuttle bus.
History
Mâcon-Loché TGV was opened on
27 September 1981 , along with the first TGV line, theLGV Sud-Est . On14 September 1992 , the first accident in the TGV's history running at high speed occurred. Train 56 derailed while running at 270km/h (167mph). Nobody was killed, but some people waiting for another TGV on the platform were hurt from the ballast that the train had kicked up from the trackbed.
