- Ad Bax
Ad Bax (born as Adriaan Bax, June 14, 1956) is the Chief of the Section on Biophysical NMR Spectroscopy at the
National Institutes of Health .Ad Bax was born in
Zevenbergen ,The Netherlands . He studied atDelft University of Technology where he got hisengineer's degree and Ph.D. degree in applied physics in 1981. He worked as apostdoc atColorado State University , before he joined the faculty at NIH's Laboratory of Chemical Physics, where he has worked since. In 2002 he was admitted into theUnited States National Academy of Sciences Ad Bax works in the field of biomolecular NMR spectroscopy, and he has developed many of the standard methods in the field. Ad Bax has contributed heavily to the development of triple resonance experiments for resonance assignment of proteins, and to the development for using
residual dipolar coupling s for determiningRNA andprotein structure s. He is one of the most cited and important scientists in the field.External links
