HMS Cook (K638)

HMS "Cook" (K638) a Bay-class frigate of the British Royal Navy. She was named for the famous explorer James Cook. She was originally laid down as the Loch-class vessel "Loch Mochrum", and re-ordered as "Pegwell Bay" while building. She was completed as "Cook", a survey vessel for dealing with the large numbers of uncharted wrecks and mines around the British Isles as a result of World War II. For this purpose she was fitted for minesweeping.
