Professor Razi Abedi is the eminent literary figure, activist and scholar of Pakistan.

Life

Razi Abedi is Pakistan's foremost literary figure. He was chairman of the University of the Punjab, Lahore and has published extensively on the literatures of both East and West. He got M.A. English from [University of the Punjab] }. In 1968, he went to England for higher studies and attained M.A. and Tripos from Cambridge University, England in 1969. His particular interest is the study of Urdu literature in the context of third-world literature and the literature now being produced in the West. He has also written extensively about education, specifically on its socio-cultural implications. Abedi is actively involved in the cultural and academic life of Lahore and is a member of many organizations in the city. He also writes poetry.
