The Batin are a Malay people in Jambi province in the interior of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.fact|date=January 2008

There are approximately 72,000 Batin living in the interior of south-central Sumatra. They speak a language sometimes called "Batin", but more often "Suka Batin". [ [http://www.ethnologue.com/14/show_language.asp?code=SBV Ethnologue report for Suka Batin] ]

The Batin are predominately Muslim, but have a matrilineal kinship system.
